Good afternoon my darlings! First weekly email of the semester, I know you've been craving it and have missed them. Long email, lots of fun to be had.
Dates for your Diary
Thursday 30th January - Pool Session
Pool session tomorrow at 8:45pm like normal, at St Leonard's Pool. If you haven't come along before, feel free! Find out more about the club, and have fun in a kayak. Rascals afterwards at about 10pm.
Wednesday 6th February - Surf Session
Surf session at the boatshed, 2pm. Come along to try out kayaking by East Sands and in the harbour.
For this sinners we will be partying like nothing ever before, there will be dressing up and fun challenges. The facebook event is here. Join even if you don't know anyone as you soon will be loving it.
Saturday 9th/Sunday 10th February - Beginners/Improvers river trip
Beginners/Improvers river trip to the Ericht/Blackwater, exact date tbc. Email Jon Harwell (jrh8) if you're interested!
Saturday 9th-Sunday 10th February - AWWSR
For those that have done the Whitewater Safety and Rescue course, this is the course for you. You will need a drysuit. Email Jean (js226) to sign up.
Friday 15th February - Bake Sale
Bake sale outside the library, to raise funds for Glencoe mountain rescue, who were involved in the incident over Christmas where four climbers died, one of which was a St Andrews graduate. Kirstie Main will be taking sign ups for shifts on the stall in Rascals, and lots of baked goods will be needed as well!
In other news: Christopher Lee has been in 275 films and holds a Guinness World Record for it. Notable appearances include Dracula, Count Dooku (Star Wars), and, according to Amy, Sauron in Lord of the Rings.
Want to lose some Christmas flab, or just keep fit? General Conditioning is on every Monday and Thursday at the Sports Centre 5-6pm. You will need at least a sports centre club membership. Canoe usually makes a big appearance so you won't be alone! As much as you all love seeing my sexy body, you will never catch me at any form of general conditioning - I dislike any form of working out.
Wednesday afternoon coaching
Looking to get back in a boat, or make this semester the time to hone your mad skills in a kayak? Then join in for two progressive training afternoons on Wednesday 6th and 13th of February, 2pm -3pm from the boatshed. Email Patrick (recent graduate and aspiring level 2 coach) at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up. Patrick I missed you <333
My son is starting school soon and thinks the other children will pick on him because of his name. I said, "Don't be silly, Someoneyourownsize, why would anyone pick on you?"
Currently the AU has driving tests available on the 7th and 8th of February. It's an informal test driving round town to check that you're a competent and safe driver, and if you pass you're added on to the AU's insurance, and can therefore drive vehicles on any trips organised by any sports clubs. If anyone would like to sign up, you need to go the AU office with your driving license and counterpart between 2pm and 3pm on both Friday the 1st and Monday the 4th.

Also, there are secret messages in every weekly email if you can find them.
Cat picture of the week! (This is what Camille's going to look like this weekend at the SUS Polo fancy dress).
Jon's weekly escapade, Episode 1: Back in St Andrews after a pretty standard Christmas. Missed you all as much as you missed him. House almost sorted for next year, 5a St Mary Street.
The rapper Birdman lost 20 houses and 50 cars including 2 Maybachs and 4 Ferraris in Hurricane Katrina. I'm from Ascot - I don't know what a rapper is.
Love to you all,
