Good morning everyone!
Hope that everyone's enjoying their Reading week! (sorry PostGrads...) and LM :)
Just a few bits and bobs this week,
Madras School Coaching opportunity
We have been offered the opportunity to run some canoe sessions for Madras pupils either after reading week or in January. These will run over 4 consecutive weeks with one session a week. We ran a few of these sessions last year and were well received by both pupils and volunteers.
Anyone wanting to get involved in this should email me back (sed32) as soon as possible with the slots that suit them best (see attachment).
Any questions please don't hesitate to email me or hunt me down at pool/pub sessions.
Gradtully Session next Wednesday
There's still a few spaces on the trip next week for anyone keen to hone their skills, contact Amy (ak632) if interested!
Adrenaline Ball Dance Tickets
Don't miss out of the best night of the year! Get your dance tickets asap from James (jm2252) at the pub on Monday and Thursday next week.
Alps Improvers' Course
Anyone interested in attending an improver course in the French Alps (for those who might not quite be ready for the club Alps' Trip) should contact James (jm2252) or Patrick (pj45). The summer before last we had a group of 6 from our club, if we can get a group like that again it would be like a club trip with coaching included, dates tbc.
"This course is aimed at the paddler who is happy on grade 2/3 and looking to improve their personal skills. Based again in Braincon in the Southern Alps we will improve your skills on classic sections of rivers in the area that suit your abilities. Cost £575 per person which includes travel (minibus), Chalet self catering accommodation and all guiding and coaching. Must be happy on grade 2/3 a roll would be desirable but not essential.” If we don't have enough for a whole trip we can arrange for a few of you to go on his course from the 22nd-29th of July.
Finally, bored of reading academia? Check out the Canoe Club Blog! We <3 LM
- If you've been on a trip that hasn't been blogged why not write a blog report and send it to me (ch663)... much more interesting than writing an essay!
