posted 1 Jan 2014, 10:00 by Canoe St Andrews
Evening everyone! Sorry for sending this a day late but I had an exam this morning that I wanted to revise for yesterday. On that note, I hope all your exams are going well if you have any! Don't worry, it's almost Christmas now!
No more zoology modules ever again, thank goodness!
Dates for your diary:
BUCS Slalom - 15th/16th February One of the best competitions of the year. Based in Teeside, the slalom course provides a perfect opportunity for those of you wanting to try out slalom for the first time on grade 2 water. A man made course, not very long (1min30 run (very roughly)), lots of people alongside to do safety and to cheer you on. We stay in a travelodge, (Yes, thats a TRAVELODGE!) and have a very sophisticated weekend. Those of you keen, email jw200 to sign up or find out more.

In other news... I'm getting a boat over Christmas (hopefully) and it's going to be amazingg!
Get involved with SSS WWR...
Following on from last year's success, SSS WWR will be held again next semester! It's a race down from the SCA get on to the bottom of Grandtully, with lots of prizes and medals if you win! We're looking for a couple of people to help out with sending emails and sorting out things like emailing landowners. Please chat to James (jm2252) if you're keen to help out just want to find out a bit more!

Improve your Kayaking!
Attached to the weekly email is a form which you can fill out yourself to evaluate where you can improve your paddling! Sounds boring, but is actually really really good for thinking about your paddling and great for watching yourself improveEmail Andre (ap69) if you have any questions! Just to let you all know, its purely for yourself and no-one else has to see it unless you want them to!
I've just woken up from a 4 hour nap. It was pretty great

The time is here to sign up for the Alps 2k14!

Did you know that the largest crocodile ever was 6.17m long?
Did you come on the Freshers Trip, or just want to see what an amazing weekend it was?
Andre has made a Freshers' Trip video using footage from the weekend so please have a watch here! It's always such a lovely weekend and it's great to be able to have a lasting memory of it - thanks Andre!
That's three and a half times my height! Remind me to stay away from places where they have crocodiles forever...
And finally, I was going to post this absolute ages ago and completely forgot. For those of you who haven't already, please head over to vogue and press the keys "up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A" on your keyboard. Now just keep hitting A as many times as you want and enjoy.

Finally, keep up to date with us by friending us on Facebook, following us on Twitter, and subscribing to us on YouTube. Our blog is great and has just had a lot of new additions - give it a read!

Lots of Canoe Love,
Sarah xx
